Support healthier landscape growth and keep weeds from defining the appearance of your commercial property.
LaBarge provides commercial turf fertilization, tree and shrub fertilization, pre-emergent weed control and post-emergent treatment.
Visitors Do Not See a “Small Weed Problem”
They see a property that is being overlooked.
A few weeds near the entrance become more visible as customers walk toward the building.
Growth around a monument sign affects the first impression before anyone reaches the door.
Weeds spreading through gravel make a water-conscious landscape look neglected rather than intentional. Thin turf can make the entire grounds appear tired.
Commercial treatment is not only about removing unwanted plants. It is about keeping the property’s appearance aligned with the organization occupying it.

Stand-Alone or Maintenance-Plan Service
Commercial treatment may be purchased separately or incorporated into a customized grounds-maintenance plan.

LaBarge’s current general guidance is:
- Grass fertilization approximately two times per year
- Most other plants approximately once per year
- Spring pre-emergent generally February through March
- Fall pre-emergent generally September through October
- Post-emergent service regularly or as needed
The final schedule depends on the property, target weeds, plants, weather, irrigation and product label.

Commercial Fertilization Services
Commercial Turf Fertilization
Provide planned nutrient applications for maintained grass areas around buildings, entrances, common areas, and other approved portions of the grounds.
LaBarge’s general commercial recommendation is approximately three turf-fertilization applications per year. The actual schedule should reflect the grass, season, soil conditions, irrigation, use, and property objectives.
Tree Fertilization
Support selected commercial trees through an annual or property-specific fertilization program when plant condition and site factors indicate that treatment is appropriate.
LaBarge generally recommends annual fertilization for most non-turf plants and includes annual fertilization in its commercial tree-and-shrub service.
Shrub Fertilization
Provide targeted nutrient support for shrubs and other approved landscape plants according to species, age, condition, irrigation, and the surrounding landscape.
New-Lawn Support
New sod may require a different establishment and fertilization plan than mature commercial turf. Treatment should be coordinated with: Installation date, Grass variety, Irrigation, Mowing, Soil preparation, Establishment progress, Prior applications.
Frequently Asked Questions
