Help your lawn and plants thrive while keeping unwanted weeds under control.
LaBarge Landscape provides residential fertilizing and weed control for grass lawns, trees, shrubs and xeriscaped areas. We recommend treatments based on your plants, the weeds present and the time of year.
Give Your Landscape the Care It Needs
Your landscape is an investment in your home and a space you should enjoy. Regular care can help support healthy growth and address weeds before they spread through lawns, gravel or planting beds.
Fertilizer is one part of that care. If grass or plants are struggling, irrigation, shade, pests or other conditions may also need attention. LaBarge does not provide soil testing.

A Treatment Schedule for Your Property
LaBarge’s general guidance is:
- Grass fertilization: Approximately twice a year
- Tree and shrub fertilization: Approximately once a year
- Pre-emergent weed treatment: Once or twice a year, often around seasonal changes
- Post-emergent weed treatment: As needed for existing weeds
The right schedule depends on the landscape, irrigation, weed activity and products used. Pre-emergent treatment helps prevent certain weeds from establishing; it does not remove weeds that are already growing.
Weed Control for Lawns and Xeriscapes
LaBarge can assess treatment needs in natural turf, gravel, mulch, planting beds, walkway edges and other landscape areas. The approach depends on the weed, nearby plants and whether a product is suitable for that location.
LaBarge is licensed in New Mexico for pesticide and herbicide application. Limited natural or organic product options may be available where appropriate. We can discuss product choices with you before treatment and provide the product label and Safety Data Sheet on request.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is one weed treatment enough?
Usually not. New weeds can emerge or spread into the landscape later. Seasonal treatment and ongoing maintenance can help keep them under control.
Are treatments safe for pets and children?
Precautions vary by product. Follow the specific label instructions for keeping people and pets away from treated areas and for when they may return.
Can LaBarge treat a gravel yard?
Yes, where an appropriate treatment is available for the weeds and surrounding landscape.
Will fertilizer fix a brown lawn?
Not necessarily. Irrigation, shade, pests and other conditions may be contributing to the problem.
